Many people misunderstand RAW files, thinking they are unedited JPEGs. RAW files contain uncompressed data, making them ideal for editing. Professional photographers typically retain RAW files due to their value and copyright ownership. Unlike JPEGs, which are compressed copies, RAW files allow for superior edits. Releasing RAW files can misrepresent the photographer’s work if altered poorly. Comparable to asking a chef for a recipe, most photographers have “No RAW” policies to protect their work and reputation.
….until it is discovered that they are not. Let me explain….. Just because someone has a “good camera” or a phone that takes good pictures, it does not mean that are professional photographers. Just because someone takes good pictures for work, their
