I started playing with resin a couple of years ago. Its a medium that I love to hate. I like it because tthe end results are great. However, it is a very tricky medium and does not always do what you want it to do.
A few years ago, I made coasters using my images. I made them by printing out my images on glossy photo paper. I them put them on ceramic tiles and covered them with resin. It was a challenge! It got to be too much so I stopped.
Now that I am sublimating, I prefer to sublimate my coasters instead.
I started learning how to sublimate tumblers last year. I already had all the equipment to do it, so i though why not? It can help me generate more income. So, I started doing designs I bought from Etsy. In addition, I learned how to configure some of my images to conform to them.
In learning tumblers, I had a lot of tumblers I messed up on. I didn’t want them to go to waste so I was trying to figure out what to do with them.
So… one late night, I came across a Tik Tok of someone doing resin tumblers I thought it was pretty cool. It planted a bug in my ear. Next thing you know, I was stripping all of my mistake tumblers and started doing resin ones.
It has been a process to say the least. I love doing them because to me, it is like abstract art. I see it as more of art then crafts. It takes a lot of skill and patience.
Its been a few months now and I m finally getting better at it. I do not see myself doing all the fancy designs you see on Tik Tok anytime soon. I am also unable to do customs, but I have been enjoying it. I am just waayyy to busy to do customs or even do them consistently.
Any who, I have finally gotten around to start putting some of my better tumblers in my online store. I will be adding more soon. In addition to that, I also started adding my sublimation tumblers as well.
The tumblers with my images can be found under functional art. The cups that have other designs , as well as my resin, are under Lagniappe category. You can check them out below.
