This past weekend, I did a shoot with 16 kids…
16 kids
in my living room at my house.
on a set designed for less than 5 people
16 kids squeezed in…
with the parents piled up behind me
I didnt even have enough room for all of them to sit.
At one point, I had to professionally and politely kick some of the parents out because I couldn’t get the kids to listen to me cuz of the talking behind me, lol
In the pic attached to this post, I only counted 15 kids. I shot this one at the end of the shoot. I started with group shots and then broke them down in sibling groups. Then at the end, I did a few more groups so I could make sure I had some usable ones.
I dont know where #16 is in this last shot…he/she may be hidden somewhere in there…or maybe they escaped somehow? If they were smart, they would ve escaped, lol! I couldnt keep up with them all. There s a very good reason God made sure I only had 1 kid.
See that lil girl in the middle of the image? Thats exactly how I was feeling at one point, lol.
I don’t know how I managed to pull it off but I did. After they left around 11 30-noonish, , I immediately started editing the shots. In many of them, I had to extend my backdrop on both sides of it….because the set was way to small for that big of a group
I worked non-stop and finally got the gallery sent out late last night/early this morning. My client is very happy with him ( or at least that’s what she s telling me 🙂 ) . My client is a long time friend…only attempted this for her because I knew it meant a lot to her. I think we will be laughing about this whole experience from now on. It was a lot of fun and defenitly a learning experience for sure.
I still can’t believe I pulled it all off!
Big shout out to my friend Melanie Doucet of Bella Noel Photography. She helped me plan and even let me borrow some of her equipment.
First thing I m buying this week is a backdrop 3 x the size of the one that we squeezed all those poor kids in.
After working non stop like that and then staying up so late last night/this morning, I had to work all day at my nursing job today so I am beyond exhausted right now!
