Me & my DSLR, together forever—for now :)

A lot of my friends have new boyfriends and newly in love with them…..and I m over here completely head over heels in love with my new camera.

My other camera was a 6D Mark II, which is great entry full frame. However, I felt like it was time to upgrade. While 99% of pros are and/or already have converted to mirrorless cameras, I am just not ready for all that yet. I opted for the proven workhouse –the 5D Mark IV and I do not regret it or feel a certain way for not jumping on the mirrorless bandwagon.

Yes, I agree that mirrorless is the future and DSLR s will become obsolete. However, that is not in MY near future. I have never been one to jump in and follow the masses because of what “society” says you’re supposed to do. I do my own thing according to my own personal beliefs and values.

This camera is just O M G flipping freakin effen amazing.

Keep in mind that the camera is just a tool though. The photographer still needs to know how to set up the composition, what settings to put in the camera ( pros use manual mode), has to understand the exposure triangle, lighting, editing, have the right lens etc.

The reason I love this cam is that I m still doing what I did before–but the camera is such a huge upgrade for me that it s getting what I need in less shots, its faster, easier to handle and the images are so dynamic SOOC (straight out the camera) that they I have done little to to editing on them to achieve the look I want. My editing workload has drastically decreased.

“They” can have their fancy expensive new Canon R5s and R6s–thats so new that some are having trouble finding accessories for …while others are fighting overheating issues with. I m sticking with my proven consistent classic until Canon gets everything worked out right. Until then, I am more than good 🙂

. *PS* Before anyone suggests I switch brands, my dad was an Army trained photographer and a Canon die hard. Switching brands is not an option for me–if I did, he d roll over in his grave and haunt me the rest of my life….and I don’t like being haunted… so I am a Canon lifer 🙂
